Fall Prevention Tips for Seniors at Home
Falls are the leading cause of injury among seniors and many of them happen at home. Here’s what you can do to keep your loved one safe:
-
Clear walking paths – remove clutter, cords, or loose rugs.
-
Add grab bars – especially in the bathroom and near steps.
-
Improve lighting – use night lights and increase brightness in hallways.
-
Use non-slip mats – especially in the kitchen and shower.
-
Monitor medications – some cause dizziness or drowsiness.
-
Consider a walker or cane – and make sure it’s adjusted properly.
Our caregivers are trained to identify fall risks during daily visits and can help with mobility, transfers, and supervised walking.
Safety isn’t about taking independence away, it’s about protecting it.
